Sharon's Kitchen is by far one of the best local spots near Baton Rouge. It was a 20 minute drive but so worth it. This place is no frills, local dining spot, but its food is amazing!! I swear it was like going to a place where a few southern/cajun mothers got together and put out their best down home dishes for everyone to eat!! The service is fast so be ready to order. I had the fried Chicken plate, cause what else do you get when you got homemade cooking options. Skin crackle and juicy flavor were on point!! I also got the Red Beans and rice.. Now I've had red beans and rice before... but never like the kind they serve a Sharon's. My God, the flavor of the two, PLUS they add boudin sausage pieces to it!!! I took one bite and I was hooked. That was by far the highlight of my meal. Don't miss a chance to go to Sharon's.
